ALYSSA A. HAUN

Haun
Alyssa focuses her practice on all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of real property, and the representation of lenders and borrowers in standard and conduit loan transactions. She also has experience in the area of local government and municipal law.

She regularly provides counsel to investors, developers and other clients on the sale, financing, and acquisition of both undeveloped and improved land, including mixed-use projects, from the inception of the transaction through closing. In connection with these transactions, she has dealt with issues related to seller financing, rights of first refusal, purchase options, cooperative development agreements, and exchanges. She has also represented a public utility provider in fee and easement acquisitions.

Ms. Haun has significant experience representing both landlords and tenants in negotiating leases for office, retail, and industrial space, as well as ground leases. She has also worked with the specialized leasing needs of government contractors and banking institutions.

She has represented lenders and borrowers in the documentation and negotiation of real estate and construction loans, and has advised clients on loan restructuring and foreclosure issues.

In addition to her commercial real estate practice, while at previous law firms she served for several years as the Assistant City Attorney and later the Deputy City Attorney for the City of Fairfax, Virginia. As part of her representation, she provided legal advice in all areas of local government, including land use, eminent domain, procurement, municipal finance, public works, personnel, and Freedom of Information Act matters, and issues related to the acquisition and disposition of municipal property.

Alyssa began her career with Roeder & Associates, P.C., in McLean, Virginia, where she practiced until relocating to Richmond in 2005. After moving to Richmond, Alyssa was a commercial real estate associate at LeClairRyan, P.C. and McGuireWoods, LLP, before joining Gregory Kaplan, PLC, in August 2009.
